Meets the national competency CPPSEC3016A Control Persons Using Spray.

Adopted world wide by Law Enforcement Agencies, Pepper Spray or "Oleoresin Capsicum" is a less lethal force option that offers flexibility in a range of confrontational situations.

During our training, you will learn:

  • When and how to correctly transition to use of OC;
  • Primary contamination methods and how to minimize secondary and cross contamination risks;
  • Correct after care and decontamination procedure;security training
  • Psychological and physiological effects of OC; and
  • Various delivery systems to deploy OC.

During training all students are offered the option of primary contamination, but it is not compulsory. However, each student will receive a secondary contamination of the OC to ensure that they:

  • Better understand the administration of the aftercare process and post exposure management.
  • Familiarise self with the effects of OC Spray if exposed.
  • Reduce the likelihood of an officer panicking if he/she is accidentally exposed.
  • Add credibility to any evidence you may give.
  • To support your response to any complaint that may be lodged.
  • Place importance on the countermeasures component of the training package.
